Humphrey had been living with a homeless individual for the past eight years. He was loyal and seemed to love his person. Humphrey could often be seen following his person several blocks behind, but always trying to catch up. Unfortunately his person was arrested. Humphrey ended up at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter several times, so the staff knew him well. Recently Humphrey was once again in the shelter. His person told the staff, “He (Humphrey) is getting old and you may as well euthanize him.” Instead, the staff called CAPE and we were able to place him into a foster home. Humphrey is such a sweet soul. We were not sure if he would adjust to living in a home environment, but guess what - he loves living in a house! Two dogs and several cats also live in Humphrey's foster home. He likes everyone! His foster mom says he is a very good boy and will make someone a wonderful companion. Humphrey has the demeanor of a wise and worldly fellow. He would love to snuggle at night and take long walks during the day. We are looking for an adult only home where Humphrey will have the love and devotion he always gave yet rarely received. Humphrey will be receiving a dental soon and then will be ready to find his forever home. Contact CAPE for more information: [email protected]
