Mr. Santiago Mister Santiago is a marvelously happy Staffordshire Terrier mix in need of a permanent home. He is very people oriented and aims to please. He speaks some English and responds well to sit, paw, down, and roll over for much adored belly scratches. Mister Santiago is most agreeable on a leash and gets along with other large dogs. Since being pulled out of the shelter earlier this year, he has only been exposed to other large dogs so we have no information on how he might get on with smaller dogs, cats or children. He would probably do well, but 65 lbs. of muscle would need to be considered. Mister Santiago is approximately 6 years old and comes with all the trimmings; neutered, micro chipped, current on all vaccines. Backstory: Several months ago, a man distressed that his wife and children left him decided to take it out on the family dog and tied Mister Santiago to a bush in a secluded area behind a drugstore in Lodi CA. Three days later, a good-hearted person posted a need for help online. The marvelous Lodi Police Department ensured safe transport for this emaciated, dejected & despondent dog to the shelter. Knowing that he was safe, and food and water were guaranteed, his friendly and happy personality was quick to resurface. In order to get him to a more nurturing environment, he was relocated to a MARVELOUS dog training/shelter-rescue facility in Northern California, where he runs free, playing with other dogs and learning good manners in anticipation of finding a forever loving home. He is currently being fostered in Grass Valley, CA. Contact Lori Perry at [email protected] or text 530-263-1876 for more information. Are you Belly’s new SOMEONE! We have no way of knowing what Belly’s life was like before she was rescued from an overcrowded shelter. She will need that perfect someone to love her and take care of her. Belly needs a home where someone is with her most of the time where she can settle down, relax, and feel comfortable with her surroundings.
Belly is a blue-nose Pit Bull. She is 7 years old and weighs 70 lbs. She is spayed and current on vaccinations. We are not sure how she lost her front teeth, but she is missing several of them. Belly has some hearing loss and a slight loss of vision, but she gets around just fine. Her back and hind legs bother her due to hip dysplasia and previous ACL injuries. Her current medications run about $160 a month.
Belly is house trained, and somewhat crate trained. It depends on what is going on around her. She barks when she’s excited – rides in the car, other dogs, new people. Belly has not been around other dogs very much since she’s been with her foster, and we do not know how she would be with cats or small children. Caution is always suggested along with slow introductions.
Belly is currently being fostered in the Grass Valley, CA area and transport can be arranged if you are out of the area. If you would like more information about Belly, please contact Noelle at 831-332-3913 or email her at [email protected].
