When we first met Ernie, he was quivering with uncertainty. CAPE volunteers held him close letting him cuddle in their laps while in the Get Acquainted yard at the Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento. Within 10 minutes, Ernie's body stopped shaking and his tail began wagging. We set him down on the ground and the once scared, shy boy began to show us his true personality.
He galloped about the yard, sniffing with curiosity the other dogs and nearby toys. Since moving into his CAPE foster home, Ernie has completely transformed. He loves people and dogs and wants to bond with a special someone. He quickly learned about the dog door and how to locate the potty area. He is super smart and has excellent focus and attention. We think he might be an excellent candidate for agility training!
Ernie would do great in a household with children and dogs.
