Little Coco, a senior citizen at nine years old, suddenly found himself homeless after his person dropped him off at a shelter. Like so many animals who arrive at shelters with no understanding of the reason their life has changed so drastically - he went into the mode of protecting himself by going into a shell.
Luckily, one of CAPE's wonderful foster families offered to take him in with the hope that Coco would emerge from his shell once he felt safe. And we have good news - that's exactly what happened. His foster family created a secure and positive environment so that Coco could rebuild his confidence and trust in people.
In a very short time, Coco bounced back. His wonderful foster mom says "his confidence is overflowing now".
Coco is neutered, crate trained, house trained and gets along well with dogs and cats. He takes two medications; one for a skin allergy and another for arthritis. Despite everything Coco has been through, he is still a very loving and forgiving 9 year old pup. He is looking for someone who will give him all the TLC he deserves and the time to adjust to his new surroundings.
