Volunteer Opportunities

We are always grateful for our CAPE community, near and far. Your time, effort, and dedication help us continue to care for animals and make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Ways to Get Involved:

Become a Foster Parent for Animals in Need
Fostering or adopting an animal through CAPE or your local shelter is one of the most impactful ways to make a difference for animals in need. Shelters and rescues are currently overwhelmed with animals seeking loving homes. By providing a temporary, safe home, you give animals the chance to experience stability and comfort outside of the shelter environment, making them more likely to be adopted. Additionally, foster homes create valuable space in shelters for more animals in need of care.

To foster through CAPE, you must be at least 18 years of age and be willing and able to provide a stable home environment. CAPE covers all costs associated with caring for your foster dog, ensuring that you can focus on providing a safe, nurturing space for them.

We offer three foster care programs:

  • Basic Foster Care - This program is for dogs who are relatively healthy with no known medical conditions or behaviors. Dogs in this program are expected to be adopted within weeks/months.

  • Assisted Living - This program is for dogs who have very little chance of being adopted due to medical and/or behavioral conditions and will live with their foster family permanently.

  • Hospice Care - This program is for dogs whose prognosis indicates that their condition is not treatable but is manageable for a certain period of time with palliative care.

By opening your heart and home, you can help us save lives and offer hope to animals who may otherwise have none. Consider fostering or adopting today and make a meaningful difference in the life of an animal in need.
