Tulip is a young, 18 lb., Poodle/Schnauzer mix who was brought to a local shelter with severe trauma after being hit by a car. The shelter reached out to CAPE for help.
CAPE quickly brought Tulip to our veterinarian for x-rays, and sadly, she has a fractured pelvis in five places.
Four veterinarians carefully reviewed her x-rays and determined the best course of action is to let her heal with plenty of rest and lots of TLC! CAPE will make sure that Tulip receives all the medical care, rest, and love she needs to recover.
Tulip is currently in a wonderful, loving CAPE foster home where she is being nursed back to health. She is on medication right now for pain management and, hopefully soon, Tulip will feel well enough for us to reduce the medication. Once Tulip is feeling better we will have her spayed and she will go up for adoption.
Thank you for helping CAPE save animals like Tulip. We will keep you posted as her journey unfolds.

An Update on Lorrie
“"Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way."
