Marigold wandered the streets of Watsonville – lost and alone. She is an old, blind dog who is incredibly sweet. She was taken to the shelter in Santa Cruz, but no one came to look for her. After her stray period was up, the shelter contacted CAPE for help. The veterinarian at the shelter thought Marigold might be a good candidate for CAPE’s Hospice or Assisted Living Program.
Luckily, one of our hospice care volunteers offered to take her in. So transport from Santa Cruz to Grass Valley has been arranged and on Tuesday we are welcoming Marigold to CAPE. Marigold will settle into her new home for a day or two and then be taken to one of our vets for a complete work up including and exam, bloodwork, and dental check-up. We will make sure that Marigold is comfy and well cared for throughout her golden years. WE will keep you posted as her journey unfolds.

“"Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way."
